About Stretch Therapy London


My name is Ashwin Tirodkar. I have been involved with movement and exercise for most of my adult life. I practiced Aikido Kokikai for 15 years in the US. Since moving to the UK I have focussed on weight lifting, gymnastics and rock climbing.

I discovered Stretch Therapy when a gymnastics teacher recommended it in 2014. Since then I’ve been driven to develop a deeper understanding of anatomy, physiology, and how to remodel the body into better movement patterns.

I’ve been mentored by Kit Laughlin and Olivia Allnutt over the last years as I develop my teaching and training. I am now their apprentice. Below is a selection of the training I have undergone over the last few years.

Stretch Therapy Classes – What to expect

Wear loose fitting, comfortable clothes. We prefer you are bare foot in class but if you prefer, you may wear socks. Toe socks are recommended. Class always begins with a light animal flow warmup and ends with joint rotations. The body of the class will involve a series of stretches that are either demonstrated by the instructor or led on a follow-along basis.

Stretch Therapy for Gymnastic Strength Training (GST)

Stretch Therapy classes start with a light and fun warmup, based around animal movements. We then move on to a series of stretches, often working with props (e.g. blocks or bolsters), a wall, or another person to help us maintain the correct position. Stretches are modified depending on an individual’s flexibility, and to take into account existing injuries or health conditions. We end with some joint rotations – a set of simple movements to improve the health and function of our joints.

Stretch Therapy for Gymnastic Strength Training (GST) classes are aimed at acrobats, aerialists, dancers, martial artists, Crossfitters and anyone wishing to improve their front splits, side splits, pike, pancake and bridge.

What to wear: Loose-fitting, comfortable clothes. We recommend that you do the class barefoot, but you may wear socks.

Booking: All classes (including drop-ins) need to booked and paid for in advance. Please contact me with details of the class / course you’d like to join and I will send you bank details.
